Outside/In FREE PERFORMANCE: British Columbia – BC World Music Collective
Bringing together musicians from Cuba, Mexico, Brazil, Africa, U.K. and Canada, the BC World Music Collective takes you on a worldwide listening journey without leaving your seat! Thirteen musicians, all with their own professional music career, weave their musical traditions together to create a unique experience. The collective comprises Adonis Puentes, Celso Machado, Tonye Aganaba, Kurai Blessing, JP Carter, Locarno (Tom Landa, Pedro Mota, Robin Layne, Liam MacDonald, Nick La Riviere, Kalissa Landa, JeanSe LeDoujet) and First Nations (Stō:lo/ St’át’imc/Nlaka’pamux Territories) rapper, Ostwelve. This supergroup is a collaboration that sees all the musicians playing with each other and backing each other up as they sing their own songs and tell the stories of where they are from and how they got to British Columbia. Their celebration of multiculturalism is full of high energy and great musicianship!

About Outside/In
The Outside/In Canadian Performance Series is a special presentation occurring between January and March 2023 and will feature national performing artists from across Canada. The series is made possible with a grant from the Department of Canada Heritage (Celebration and Commemoration Program). As part of the series, we will be offering six live theatre performances, an outdoor street social event featuring local music and cultural groups, and a promotional campaign to encourage attendees to support local businesses and restaurants. These activities will increase opportunities for Canadians to participate in various commemorative activities and celebrations to mark Canada’s emergence from the COVID-19 pandemic. The project will support the revival of local economies through in-person events. All events, including the professional theatre performances, will have free access for the community.
Tickets to this event are FREE but limited, so get yours now and don’t be disappointed!
This series has been made possible in part by the Government of Canada. Ce projet a été rendu possible en partie grâce au gouvernement du Canada.
