Coastal Dance Festival: All Ages Matinée

The matinée is an all-ages performance intended to foster an environment for youth to gain a deeper understanding of Indigenous dance, culture, and stories. Inspiring, educating, and including youth is a core value and practice of the Dancers of Damelahamid. This matinée will open with Squamish group Chesha7 iy lha mens followed by the Dancers of Damelahamid who will perform their popular masks dances from their production Spirit and Tradition. The festival takes place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the qəyqəyt (Qayqayt), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), q̓ʷainƛ̓ən (Kwantlen), q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie) people.
