Winter Celebrations 2022
Celebrate the holiday season with us! Between December 21-31, the first floor of Anvil Centre will come alive with the Winter World lantern labyrinth and performances. Winter World visits are free and include community performances and activities. The event mainstage also features ticketed events that offer something for everyone with plenty for families and art lovers alike, including Axis Theatre’s Th’owxiya: The Hungry Feast Dish and the always popular Family Ceilidh featuring Blackthorn.
During Winter Celebrations, in addition to the Winter World lantern labyrinth and ticketed performances, celebrate the holidays with family and friends at one of our FREE community performances inside the Anvil Centre Ballroom! The line-up features a blend of dance, music and singer songwriters, including Chris Clute and Victoria Groff, Jason Qiu, Kevin Lam String Quartet, world renowned Indian classical arts duo, Cassius Khan and Amika Kushwaha, and more.

Th’owxiya: The Hungry Feast Dish by Axis Theatre Society

Immerse yourself in the legend of the basket ogress, Th’owxiya, an old hungry spirit that inhabits in a feast dish full of bountiful delicious foods.
